Fabuloso is one of my favorite paintings from my series Homage to My Mother. Marigolds sit inside a repurposed Fabuloso bottle on top of a Mexican blanket. Fabuloso is the iconic all purpose cleaner found in so many Mexican households. My mom cleaned homes for a living. She came here and built her own cleaning business from nothing. She is an entrepreneur. The work ethic I learned from her gave me the tools to chase my dream of becoming an artist. Painting her supplies like a Van Gogh painting makes her labor fine art.
